PROFESSIONAL TRAJECTORY
Dr. Adriana Najera-Pollak is a distinguished clinical social worker with a doctoral degree from New York University (NYU). Bilingual and bi-cultural, she offers her expertise in a private practice setting, working individually and in groups with adolescents, young adults, and couples.
Dr. Najera-Pollak holds NYU certifications in advanced clinical practice, advanced assessment and diagnosis, clinical approaches to addictions, and clinical practice with adolescents. Her extensive training includes postmaster programs at Harvard University. She also completed her Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) educational training at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia under the guidance of Dr. Aaron and Judith Beck.
As a SIFI-certified supervisor, Dr. Najera-Pollak is passionate about teaching and is dedicated to providing instruction and supervision to social work master-level students and professional master-licensed social workers pursuing their supervised clinical hours. Currently, she is an adjunct professor for the online social worker master’s program at Loyola University of Chicago and an adjunct professor for clinical social worker doctoral students at NYU.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Najera-Pollak is committed to increasing awareness about mental health and adolescent suicide prevention through professional conferences and presentations. She also facilitates self-improvement workshops and webinars focused on women’s empowerment and parental skills development.
Before relocating to New York, Dr. Najera-Pollak completed four years of medical school at the Universidad Nacional de Tucuman in Argentina and interned as a medical resident at the Centro de Salud Hospital's ER and Psychiatric units in Tucuman City.
